Outsourcing FAQ

  • Sure, I do this for a living and I want bookings so I’m always going to recommend it, aren’t I?

But from experience, I can say this is actually about you, your workflow, business structure and financial priorities. The main reason my clients outsource their editing is time.

Crafting a good edit from the ground up can be time-consuming, and so outsourcing this part of the video making process allows you to reclaim other areas of your business.

Shift your focus to building new and existing client relationships, expand your marketing, take on more filming or even enjoy more free time to spend with family and friends.

  • Once we have outlined the key elements you are looking for (eg. level of editing work needed, delivery formats, timeframe etc.), you send me raw footage and materials to construct each edit.

I then work on the edit, keeping as close to your editing style as possible. My service is completely bespoke, so for example if all you need is a footage cull or multicam edit, I’m here for you!

Of course, if you’re looking to outsource all of your video editing workflow, you can count on me in equal measure.

When the edits are complete, I would then deliver either an exported film in the format of your choice, or a project file for you to make any tweaks/add logos/make exports from.

    It truly is that simple.

  • Most clients prefer to use cloud storage options, eg. Dropbox, Google Drive, or WeTransfer.

No worries, though: I am also happy to receive USBs or hard drives in the post!

  • I want to make each edit perfect for you! Therefore I am always happy to make adjustments if you need me to. These are explained further in the agreement you sign before sending over your footage.

Some clients prefer to make their own adjustments after I send a project file. This also allows you to put your own creative flair into the film without having to spend days constructing it from scratch.

That’s the beauty of outsourced video editing!

  • I totally understand! That is among the first questions I ask. I never share a project on my website or social media pages before clearing it with the client.

Many prefer I not share anything, which is why you only see a small selection of wedding films on my website.

  • My inbox is just a few clicks away and I’m happy to answer any other questions you have about trusting me with your film projects.

Just head over to my contact form and tell me about your video editing needs!
